duckling imprinting

Ok I will collect some dirt for them. I put the smashed up peas on a plate. No hand feeding yet. Gotta work up to that. They don't want me to pet them or pick them up, they like to be near me but they don't like to be picked up and they think if I go to pet them it means I'm going to pick them up. I spend time sitting in their kennel. I want them to get used to me. I want them to come climb on me or sniff or even peck at me on their own lol. Maybe it's wishful thinking. But I will get romaine lettuce and maybe I can get them to take that out of my hand!

they will be in your lap in no time :) try having a little.food in your hand and just putting your hand away from you while.sitting of crouching down . their little.beaks nibbling at you will make you smile for.sure :):) you are definitely following a great method though an animal will always be more comfortable around you if you let it decide to come to you and not force them. don't give up you'll be very surprised with the results make sure to.update here so I can see the progress I'd love to.see some.pictures too :)

My profile pic is the only pic of them I have right now and I took that a week ago. Since then I have just taken videos. And I can't post videos :( I even switched from the mobile website to desktop (on my phone, but that was an option) but it still didn't give me the video option. And I don't have a YouTube account. But anyway, I will take pictures of them and their kennel setup in the morning. And when I get access to a computer I will post a video or two.
What kind of dogs do you have? I have an English Bull Terrier and a Pug. I also have 2 horses.

here's a few pictures of my duckies eating out of my hand :) also want to add that my ducks do not like being picked up either, not sure there are too many that do, they run when I go to pet them, sometimes run when I walk near them :/ if I'm standing in front of their night house they stand a distance away and wait for me to.move before going inside most of the time haha so.it's just a duck thing we're working on the bonding too there are times one.will run up.to me the other will.follow and I will.not.try to pet them I'll just enjoy that they decided to say hello they do throw a fit sometimes when they can't see me outside or through the house Windows . I feel like they just want me to stand there and watch them all day

awesome I'm excited to see them!! I have 2 male muts haha. one is the son of the other. the dad is a Rottweiler German Shepard mix, and the son is a Rottweiler Germans Shepard husky mix. it's funny they both have short tails. I'll post a picture of them with the ducks tomorrow I'll try to.set up a photo shoot hahaha wish me luck! they are very sweet to them, they sleep.outside of their house at night chase away every cat and rat, they lay next to them in the day sometimes and they love to eat the food they leave over after meal.time :/ haha edited to add.. those sound like adorable breeds of dogs! how are they with the ducks? and having horses must be just amazing my aunt had them and I loved riding them brushing them just kicken it near them was amazing too

I am jealous of the hand feeding but you did make me feel better. I'll be perfectly happy if they just like my company and will eat out of my hand, but don't want to be picked up.
I will definitely be sure to take more pictures tomorrow!

Here are the pics I took today of the ducklings and their pen. Ignore that the crate says Hannah, must have been the dog's name that had the crate before it was mine.
