Hello ! It has been a while since I've posted anything here.
I'm not sure if this is the correct thread but I didnt want to post it in injuries / illness just in case it was normal !

I recently hatched out 3 adorable ducklings ( The mother is a khaki campbell x pekin and father is an indian runner )

They have been very sensitive to temperature and yesterday I've noticed they were breathing in deeply. There isn't any noises that I can tell when they breathe in "thickly" , no discharge from their eyes / nares or anything like that.
Other than the deep breathing and sensitivity to temperature they're completely happy normal ducklings !

I was just wondering if anyone else has had this experience with mixed ducklings, and if there was anything I should be changing to help them better.
I lower their heat lamp and they do breathe a bit better, but then get a bit more chilly at times when they splash their water.
If I turn up the heat lamp, they breathe deeper and hot mouth.

My heat lamp only has the 2 settings unfortunately 😅
Their bedding is pine / Aspen if that's helpful.
Thanks to anyone reading or able to give some advice <3
( i had a tiny towel in some of the images, but was only temporary )

My thermometer broke and I haven't been able to replace it yet, but it was around 90-99 F before breaking
It's important to know. 99 is too high, and even 90 may be too high long term. They need to be able to get out of the heat if they get too warm.

Yes I agree, I just haven't been able to get a better one yet unfortunately.
I do have it so a portion of the bin is under the lamp and the other side is further away so they can have a bit of a cooler area, but they choose to stay on the warmer side.

They are at bit silly haha
