Need some advice on keeping my duck cool.
So lately, my Pekin has been panting while in her pen. Her pen is pretty open and is lined with puppy pads. She never use to do this, but now since she has more down I’ve noticed it a lot more. I’ve been taking both my duckling outside for 1-3 hours at a time. They seem to be loving the weather which is in the high 50’s and low 60’s. The current temperature in my house is 72° which is pretty cold for me. I took her out and put her on my laminate floor and now she cooled off.

How can I keep her cool in her pen while making sure my other duckling isn't cold?
Could she be panting for another reason?

She doesn't pant when she is outside?
No she doesn’t, but I don’t trust leaving them outside right now. I don’t have anything set up to keep them safe from predators, and we’re also going down to 45° tonight, so it might be TOO cold. I have a fan blowing in the corner of their pen right now. And I placed two ice packs, under a towel, and covered that towel with the puppy pads. So maybe it will acts a a cooling mat for now. Just don’t want her to overheat while I’m sleeping. 😞
