Duckling Photos

My chocolate runner is smaller as well and also the most skittish one. Our blue (or not so blue as she turns out LOL) one is the biggest with the fawn and white just a tiny bit larger than the chocolate. Has been this way from early on and at 5.5 weeks, still that way

Hi,
Here's my hatch of 8 ducklings -- all were supposed to be Silver Appleyard, but 2 are bigger and darker. Are they drakes? Or a different breed altogether? Any idea what kind? Thanks

the chocolate runners are awesome! I have 16 duckie eggs in the bator, swedish mix, chocolate runner, runner/pekin is a possibility, and pekin as well. I am soooo excited to see what hatches out, this is my first ducking hatch, i am so used to the quail which only take 17 days and the chickens which usually hatch out in 20 days, urg, I am IMPATIENT! I loove your chocolate runners though, they are awesome! I hope I get some in my bunch, or like a chocolate colored pekin LMAO wouldnt that be HILARIOUS??!?!

Oh, those are cute! The two larger ones look mallard to me, too. But, we have some appleyard crosses at our lake that looked totally mallard at first, but really matured into beautiful ducks. They weren't 100% appleyard, but enough to really make them look very pretty, especially around the heads of the females.
