Duckling pipped outside air cell, 17 hours ago. Assistance needed?

He's out, but now his brother keeps biting him. He seems pretty weak, but can't rest when his brother is pestering him. Is this a problem?

He was in there so long he had time to poop in the shell. He's got some sticky hardened membrane stuck to his back. I'm assuming this is of no immediate concern?

The hatch finally happened at about 51 hours. The duckling had stopped "chewing" and started thrusting and peeping. Its bill was visibly bruised or blistered from two days of back and forth against the somewhat hardened membrane. I slowly stretched/tore enough of the way around that the cap could hinge open, watching carefully for blood. He kicked his way out after that with quite a bit of encouragement from his brother, who's been waiting almost three days for some company!

Do you mean the little yellow bump at the end of his bill? That's called the egg tooth. The "tooth" helps the chicks break through the shell. It falls off in a few hours to a day or two after hatching.

No, the side has something that looks kind of like a blood blister where it was rubbing.
