Duckling Questions

Hi Everyone, I'm new to BYC but I also use a bowl with a snap on lid. Only my bowl is square and about a 1" high. I cut 4 small 50-cent size holes in the corners and the baby ducks have no problem getting a drink and the bowl doesn't tilt over! I keep them all in a very large ice chest that the lid broke off of and put a old icebox wire shelf over the top with a clamp lamp and a 100 watt bulb setting on it as a brooder. Makes for easier cleaning! If it gets very cold I put a piece of plastic siding over one end.

It seems to work real well.

As soon as they can go in my wire cage I hang a rabbit water bottle on it w/sipper tube. They learn very quickly how to use it. No mess, no wet ducklings. All you have to do is teach 1 duckling how to use it, the rest will follow.

to everyone else... I believe I have infected DuckDuckMoo with the chicken/duck bug. I haven't told her yt that there is no cure.... lord she has some cute duckies.... and what a great friend... she bought me 2 crested babies....................
