Duckling scare

Funny thing happened yesterday.

I have 7 Magpie ducks. 6 are 3 weeks old and 1 is from a single hatch a week later. The older ones beat her up so I have her in the garage and them in the tractor.She cries for them all the time. She is loud. I let her out with them when I can supervise.

I was spreading mulch across the yard from the garage when I heard my lone duck behind me. I freaked out - she had escaped! I have 3 acres so I was very far from the garage.

Then I turn around and it is a mockingbird making a baby duck distress cry.

That's funny. I had one mockingbird sound like was talking too me. It freaked me out because I thought it was a person behind me!

When Odette was a baby he'd walk right under my feet so it was like a dance to walk in the yard with him. I wish mockingbirds were around where I live, it be fun.
