Duckling Seizure?

Sorry i had not responded we are having hatching questions on another board. Lucky for us she was drinking and bathing so we put in water both ways for her to ingest. Rey was acting normally aside from the seizures. I hope you get your baby better!

Thank you, I will give that a try. I only have a tiny glass eyedropper, but I can stick that end into her mouth and squeeze a little at a time. Though it seems to take her a long time before she decides to swallow.

A dropper is fine and this may take a while main thing is not getting it into her air sacs so make sure it is just tiny amts right inside the bill.

She didn't have one seizure all night, thank God! We were getting worried yesterday because it seemed to come on her ten minutes earlier than the last one. There was a time when it was every thirty minutes. But doing like you suggested, we were able to get Nutri Drench and some niacin water down her, almost after every seizure. This morning she went to the water herself and just drank and drank!

It seems that noises could also startle her into a short one. I placed the food and water in their brooder, and she must be stilled been sleeping, as she kind of have a start and shook a bit. But she is on the mend! Thank you so much for your help!

That is great news!!

Yes being startled can bring them on so always speak before you let them see you or sing to them as your coming towards the brooder. Just to let them know you getting close.

Is she eating at all you can make a very soupy mix of her feed and try giving her tiny amts through the dropper also.

She has only eaten maybe two bites since yesterday. I will try putting it through the eye stopper. She has had a tough morning.....had some many seizures I've lost count! Still getting bits of liquid down her.

I am sorry to hear this, and you have to realize you may lose her but keep on fighting for her. It's important she gets nourishment . How old is she? maybe too young for tube feeding.

She is 5 weeks old. I tried the eyedropper with a watery mix of food, but the food kept getting stuck. Will try with a different dropper.

I do understand she might not live,and I don't want her to struggle through life either. But willing to help her fight this! Been doing a lot of holding her steady during her seizure and praying
