Duckling Swallowed String *Help!*

I went into my garage to get the ducklings (because they escaped out of their brooder...still figuring out how they did it), and I found my little girl with a long thin kite string in her mouth. When I gently pulled on it - it did not come out. So I took her immediately out to the kennel, to a worker there (who worked for a vet for many years) and she tried to see if she could get it out. But we didn't want to hurt it more by pulling it out - so we cut it as short as we could. She is acting fine now, but is there something I can give her so that the string will go down better? I have no idea how much she swallowed. I feel really bad for her.

Some info on her:
Age: 1 month old (give or take)
Breed: Saxony
Gender: Almost positive she is a girl

She is acting normal, but I am still worried about her.

Thanks in advance

the same thing happened to one of by button quails when he was only 2 days old. he ate one of my hairs, and i have some LOOONG hair. he swallowed about half of it (approx 6 inches or more) before my botfriend noticed and went "Um, i think Noodle ate your hairs..."

i was TOTALLY worried! but noodle is of breeding age now and likes to help me with homework... still haven't seen my hair, but i'm not worried seeing as he is such a healthy young fellow.

here he is helping me with my history report! i got a good grade on it thanks to his efforts in remembering what happened in east berlin on august 12th 1961!

It should come out. If it stops eating or acting strang then up might start warring.

Okay. I will keep a close eye on her. I put a mark on her head so I can tell which one she is so that I can keep checking on her. As of now, she is acting just fine.

She is doing really good.

Thank God, because I waited forever for these guys to get them from Holderread. I am really glad and I hope that she stays good.

Thanks you guys

My chicken ate a long feedbag string. I made her brown rice and added lots of oil to it to make her guts comfy (I do the same when dogs swallow bones). She must have digested it because I never saw it again and she is fine.
