This is very helpful thank you! I don’t feel confident in my abilities at all but I might have to give it a go. I don’t think she will make it otherwise.

I know people have done crop surgery at home. There are a couple articles on here about it. I’m not sure if it’s something you’d be comfortable with and I don’t think it’s highly recommended but if it would save your hen it might be worth it…

I might have to give it a go. I don’t think I have any other options. I think waiting until Friday for the vet is pushing it time wise.

Please don't do it at home. Take the financial hit and get her to a vet. Strings are chickens' arch enemy. I have scoured my yard to get rid of anything and yet they still manage to run around with some hanging from their beak now and then.

I hope she makes it!
