I'd place a tray of some kind under your waterers to help catch the splashing water.
I have done that but it didn't help.

I'm using a chick waterer. Are you using a chick waterer or did you make a duckling waterer? Also, does the tray have hardware cloth over the top of it so they can't play and splash in the water they've got into it?
Yes, I have that coveredhttps://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/raising-and-caring-for-ducklings.750869/
Pic of homemade duckling waterer. Very important water fowl be able to dunk their entire heads in water to clean nares and eyes especially when eating.
Yes, I have that covered![]()
Ok thanks, I put her back in her brooder with a bowl of damp food and a bowl of water, hopefully she will get full at some point. Also, is okay that she throws up? Is that just because of her over eating? If she's really gulping it down like that, it's because she's really hungry. She'll stop doing that once she feels she is getting enough food. Perhaps try wetting it down more at first when you are leaving it in 24/7 so she's not choking on it when she's eating it.
I'd probably switch back. The hemp itself probably won't hurt them, but I'd be worried about things like impacted crop resulting from them eating it.
Yes, but I find they play in it still and everything still gets wet. Lol.So you made one? Good! The other reason to use one of those styles of waterers is that it cuts down a ton on the splashing, so now your brooder will stay drier longer![]()
