What's 'aspirating water' mean? I just had a chick get some water on it's nostrils

Means breathing in water. That the water could have gotten in the lungs.

Sad news the duckling was killed by momma sometime this morning. Only thing I can guess is that it had something going on that I didn’t pick up on.
