Duckling with hatching blister?

Hello!

We are new to incubating and hatching ducklings so any help is appreciated. our second batch look healthy aside from this one duckling who has what looks like blood blisters on it’s Bill.

does anyone know what it could be and if it needs treatment?

It is soft, correct?

Are you able to see anything on the inside of her mouth?

I think the most likely cause here, is probably that she made a small cut on her bill (possibly from the eggshell) when trying to pip, bacteria has now entered the wound, and you now have a blister.

Poking it with a needle might introduce more bacteria in, so it may just be best to leave it for a few days, maybe a apply a triple antibiotic ointment to it, and see if the swelling goes down on its own.
