Duckling with heat lamp burn.

Suggestions, I always come here first I have cleaned and inspected wound looks to be a burn. I'm supecting after discussing it with my son. When he went to get them out of new enclosure he set heat lamp down inside and didn't unplug it. Unfortunately they seemed to had pushed this little guy into the lamp when they pack was try to evade him.

So after observation all day she seems to be fine. Eating, drinking, swimming... I also switched out shavings for sand in there brooder what a huge difference it maked in just one day...the smell is almost gone. The sand absorbs the watery mess they make like a dream.
 
Just be sure to keep it clean as it's healing. Biggest threat with a burn people and animals (second to airway compromise anyway) is infection. Try not to let it pick/scratch scabs as it heals. If you can keep the scabs soft, it won't itch as much. You want to avoid nasty claws from touching it. Specially in a brooder.
