I had a broody hatch out 3 tiny "A" size Serama peeps and the same day went to Chickenstock with my DD & came home with a day-old call duckling & an EE peep.
The broody accepted the newcomers, and she's now covering 5 --the 3 seramas & the duckling & EE, who are 2-3 times their size. Will there be any dangerous bullying or conflict later one? I've never mixed sizes or breeds this much. Mom is a bantam cochin.
Other extraneous info info... They all drink out of a water bottle, that's my standard for brooders, and the call duckling has learned this already. Fed ground starter grains, not crumbles, and the duckling gets to wash his bill in fresh water a few times a day, raised on rags & toweling.
