My ducklings are 2 weeks old. The have been treated for a respiratory infection for one week with antibiotics. Now one of them has a huge swollen crop and she is spitting up at times and the smell is awful! Of course it is the weekend and can not get into a vet until Monday at the soonest.
What can I do in the meantime to help her? Bedding, food and water and changed multiple times a day. I added probiotics to their water and they have brewer's yeast in their feed.
Any other suggestions???? I'm afraid she will die :((

The birds are already predisposed to sour crop development since they are currently/were on antibiotics, which will create a more suitable environment for yeast growth by diminishing any bacteria in the crop; this can be exacerbated if the birds were on the antibiotics too long as well.
Sour crop presents itself as a symptom rather than a disease itself; there are a wide variety of conditions/factors that can cause sour crop to occur, with ducklings I would be concerned with foreign matter intake, antibiotic use, etc.
The underlying cause would be best sorted out via your vet, where they can also provide fungistats if necessary.
Until then place the duckling in a warm, stress-free area, with water laced with poultry electrolytes. Avoid picking the ducking up; especially resist placing too much pressure on the crop region (upper chest region).
I hope you can get this figured out soon.
