duckling with twisted neck help!!!!

They're adorable, thanks for sharing!! ^-^

Fingers crossed for your last little one!

His little beak is pushing through the egg now so i think its just a matter of hours until he hatches!!! a 5 out of 5 hatch rate would be amazing (knock on wood) since its my first time so I'm hoping he continues to be a trooper! will keep you updated

my duckling died.... not the one in the egg but the very first one to hatch out. He was completely fine i was even holding him then i put him back in his brooder and came back 15 minutes later and he was dead. I don't know why? i had given them a bit of water this morning, dipped his beak. then he showed no more interest so i took it out so they wouldn't drown in it and went to buy a new one but i thought they could last two days on just their egg stuff so i didn't put the new waterer in yet. I don't know if thats why he died or not but I'm devastated. he hatched so quickly and well, we called him trooper

Oh no, I'm so sorry! :(

Does that mean you don't have water in there available to them all the time? Because they should have access to food and water at all times at this age. Yes, they have some yolk reserves just after hatch, but it's best to get them eating and drinking as soon as possible for the best results. You just need to get a proper waterer they can drink out of without allowing them to get into it and get wet. Old plastic food containers with lids work great! You just cut a hole in the lid just big enough for them to get their heads in so they can wash their faces and clear out their nares, but are unable to get their bodies into it to get wet or make a mess.

They have water full time now! I had to go to the store to get food and a waterer (they came 5 days early I wasn't prepared) so they didn't have food or water for a few hours during the day. But they all got a chance to drink that morning. He died as I was filling the waterer ):

Ok, good. :)

Again, sorry about the one you lost. When they die so suddenly so soon after hatching it's usually from some congenital problem on the inside we can't see. Hope your other little ones continue to do well. Post some pics if you can! ^-^

Hi all, I didn't want to post yet as I was worried she wouldn't make it but the fifth baby has hatched and is doing good! I think she is a runner pekin mix with the mom being a pekin as the egg was the same size as the others but she is significantly smaller. She also has a bit of a runner look to her. Here are my four babies

The one farthest to the right is the fifth baby, named Stella though I really don't know her gender
