My ducklings are so big now they can just about step out of their brooder. We don't have room in our garage or shop to put them in! When my chicks were about 4 weeks old I put them outside on the patio in front of the sliding glass door with a heatlamp. It was much cooler outside then, but they did just fine. Would it be unwise to put my ducklings out at 2-3 weeks with a heat lamp? The night lows are in the mid to upper 40s. I walk out without a coat these days when I open the chicken coop so it feels pretty nice to me (yeaaa spring!).

I was wondering the same thing for myself. Except here, the highs are in the 40's. I suppose I could cram everything in the garage......not the best option though.

our chicks are outside in the grow box without a light and they are bout 4 weeks today. They are doing fine.2-3 more weeks and into the big coop they go!!

Wow! What a fabulous duck house! If I had my duck home like that I'd put my ducklings out right now with a heat lamp.

Thanks, AnaD. I think I will get some straw/wood chips I give that a try in the near future. We are getting tired of washing towels.

I put my ducks outside a week ago (so 2 weeks old) with a heat lamp, they did/are doing just fine.

My ducks are 4 weeks old, and last night they spent their first night outside. They had a heat Lamp, and straw in their dog house. They did just fine! They slept in their doghouse all night. They should be fine if they have a heat lamp!
