Ducklings are pipping!! - would love some distractions!

I have an outdoor brooder. The floor is hardware cloth. I covered the cloth the first 2 days, then they had access to the grass poking up. After about a week I set up a fence so they have outdoor access during the day. It is highly dependent on temps though- it’s been 70s-90 here. And they can always run inside to warm up under the lights if needed.

Where I live it’s pretty hot during summer so I’m not worried about them getting cold. When can I let swim?

Most places recommend waiting several weeks. Personally I offer supervised swimming in warm water the first 1-2 weeks, then a pool with steps in and out after that. If they can’t easily get in and out they can drown.

If their bellies are good I have let mine have sink time in nice warm water then I Pat them dry and right back into the warm brooder this is around 5-7 days
