ducklings can't get out of egg

Update, sorry I don't have pictures as I checked before I left this morning for work. The first one is doing great, it eats out of your hand. It seems to be showing the second one how to eat and watches over the second one. The second one last night was good. I did feed it some with a dropper. It seems more alert just still weak, its feet go off to the side, I am thinking due to not having good strenght . I didn't get to check it this morning. The third one that was poking a hole this morning when I checked had poked the shell until it had a line of boken shell about 60% around the egg in the area it could reach with its beak. It looks its been broke in a line. So I will watch this one for distress. So as far as now it seems they are doing ok.

That's called zipping he should be out soon. Just give the week one some time. I wouldn't recommend trying to feed it. It can live off the yolk for 2 days without food or water. As long as the other one is eating and drinking he will copy when he's strong enough. They move at different speeds. Sometimes they run around right out of the egg, sometimes they lay around for A day. Since this one came out early, it may take a while. If he's not up and around by the time you get home come back to me and we will think about what to do. You will also have three ducklings by the time you get home. :celebrate

Update on the ducklings. The first two are doing fine. The third one came out of its shell Tuesday night. We let it stay in the incubator overnight to keep warn then took it out Wednesday morning. By yesterday afternoon the third one was moving some and eating on its on. I checked one time and the two older ones were on each side I assume to keep it warm. My wife emailed me today and we have now three pecking out of the eggs they are in. So this will make 6 new ones to go with our 4 others. We also have 7 new ones that will be delivered next Tuesday. So hopefully before too long we will have over 20 ducks total running around. I am really liking raising ducks more than chickens.

Latest update. The last one hatched a few days ago over the weekend. All together seven of them were able to hatch in the incubator. I had three left in it. two of them looked like they did not try to create a embryo. One had tried to create a duckling but it had been dead ,I suspect it died when it rolled out from under the mother and was out a while. I think the one that died may have had something wrong with it.

The oldest is about a week older than the youngest. They seem to be doing really good. The four that were hatched are doing great as well. I let them out of the house we have for them and now they can get around in their pen. I took a couple of pictures of the ducks. The ones outside are the oldest ones with their mother.

Sounds goo d. I'm here if you need help and several others are around as well.
This is where I am. The duckling was early hatching. No it was not forming when I took it out of the mud. There are 10 fairly tame plus 23 from the wild ones. I couldn't let the squirrels have them & the mothers won't sit on them. I expected this litle one to die but the litte souls heart is still beating (gave it little bit water) It's a trooper like the 2 last year I had to help out. This one was in trouble. I just don't know if I got to it in time. I have an appointment I casn't cancel. I hope it will be all right. Is there anything else I can do. These ducks amaze me!! They have a will to live that I have never seen before (except for my self)
