Ducklings coming in tomorrow!

Where did you get them? I barely find duckling here on craigslist or basically anywhere in PA!

I did order them from Metzer Farms which is all the way in CA! I was super nervous but it was our only option for the breed of duck we wanted to get. Our original plan was to travel 2-3 hours to Lancaster to a local hatchery to pick up the ducklings so that they didn’t need to be shipped but no where in Lancaster had Welsh Harlequin! I agree it is hard to find ducklings in PA. Best advice just continually check Craigslist. That’s where we got our first two ducklings, but they were sold to us a Pekins and they are most definitely Muscovies! Lol. So you take that risk from Craigslist.

Oh my gosh!!! What kind are they? Mine were supposed to come in today but now I am told it wont be until tomorrow. I am so scared that they arent going to be alive. Tomorrow will be day 4 of being in the mail.

Oh no! That’s super scary! Did you ask why there is such a delay? Are you picking them up at your post office? I picked mine up at 6:45 this morning before the post office even opened.

They are Welsh Harlequin ducklings! I love the duckling phase but I’m so excited to see how beautiful they turn out to be when they’re adults!

I’ll be praying that your ducklings survive their long journey and get to you soon happy & healthy!

Yes, craigslist isn't really my go-to but I am looking for a hen muscovy and looking to sell my drake... to many muscovies on craigslist!!! No one even wants to buy them anymore.

Awh. That’s sad. We love our muscovies. They have great personalities and we think it’s awesome to watch them fly around the yard.

Yes our post office said they will call me at 4 tomorrow morning when the truck gets in. I have called so many times I think they are sick of me! lol but I want my babies!!!! And of course its snowing here today so I am super worried that they are not gonna make it. You were smart. I should have ordered from Metzer!

More photos to come when I get home! Both of my ducklings arrived ALIVE! Thankfully! I was very nervous to order them as well! They’re actually at work with me, I didn’t have time to get them & drop them off at home so I had a box prepared with everything they need and they’re chilling with me all day! (I’m a toddler teacher, so my kids got to see baby ducklings too, they loved them!) They were very talkative this morning chirping up a storm but have quieted down, filled their bellies and drank lots of water & taken many naps in the back of their heat cave!

I didn’t really look anywhere else. But Mezter had good reviews and success stories! I was the same way. I called my post office this morning asking them if they were there before they were ready to call me. I really hope your babies get there safely tomorrow morning!

Oh no! Now you got me scared for when my drake gets older! Right now my hen just flys away or walks away from him whenever she wants nothing to do with him. They haven’t started mating though.

Pictures as requested! I love them so much already! I hate that I can’t spend more time with them! I struggled with this with our Rouen ducklings. The evenings go so fast and I’m sure they will even more so now that it’s getting dark earlier! We’ll be naming them as soon as we get to know their personalities! So far our duck flock is Arthas & Khaleesi (our first ducklings, Muscovy) Spunky & Shadow (our second pair of ducklings, they’re 7 weeks now, Rouens) and now these two complete our flock! Female name suggestions welcome.
