Ducklings dead

Hello,

I am worried. Behind my garden there is a little pond with ducks. There’s a mother with 2 ducklings. A week ago she had 9 or 10. There’s only one female left and she is protected by 6 or 7 male ducks. I fear That if the ducklings die the ducks Will dissapear from the pond. Can someboddy Tell me at What age the ducks are safe from the danger? And if there signs of the gender? I hope they Will be ok cause with No female No more ducklings.

Something must be killing them, have you checked your erea for predators?
They could be moving to a bigger pond...

Ducks usually bring their young to shallow water ponds, streams for the first few days and then they move to nearby lakes are you sure it’s the same mother duck ?

We have crows and geese killing them. The ducks are moving to a more sheltered part. Like a small river.

Their mothers should be protecting them, I’m afraid there’s nothing you can really do about it.... maybe get a hunter over to shoot the crows
