It is hot and humid today in VT (85* F) and really humid, so I thoguht I would let my 1 week old Rouen ducklings have a little fun in the water. They stayed in for about 3 minutes. Then they got fried and went back in for anotther 5 minutes probably. The water was warm so I allowed them to stay in. They had fun and dove underneath. I just noticed today, but when they got out and their bodies were dripping, they have HUGE heads and scrawny little bodies. They are now outside with a board over the brooder so they have shade. They are drying with a nice breeze. Here are some pics I took.

Mine had a little dip yesterday - in a caserole dish under their heat lamp - LOLOL

I'm going to build a little enclosure outside for them, to keep them safe from chickens...

very very cute!!! My daughter saw them and said aaaaaaawwwww! She's four...so I guess we're getting ducks soon. How can I resist that reaction?
