I just had a little one cuddle up under my neck - started nibbling on my ears, my necklace, tried the cats foot (cat not amused) it was SO cute, then s/he nibbled my chin and my lips and nose - SO dang funny - and it tickles!
Drumstick will LOVE them!!!

Muscovy drakes will start growing at an alarming rate. At maturity they will easily be 2 to 3 time the size fo the females.
You should be able to tell by foot size soon if not alread. Males have frankenfeet.

Sorry to go OT for a second but I told Drum we were gonna start the pond
today after I jackhammered a huge boulder blocking the fence route. The rock
turned out to be a lot harder than I thought so I couldn't finish it. When
he found out we weren't gonna start the pond he gave me the look of death.
It was like I took away his birthday party or something.

And just so you know I have an extreme duck sensitivity. Try growing
up name Donald. Quack Quack.

Now back to cute fuzzy ducks.

Oh wow, I'll keep my eye open, so far none really STICK out as being bigger than the others.
One does have a MUCH friendlier personality - I told my hubby I bet thats a boy. s/he LOVES being picked up and cuddled.
Its really difficult to tell them all apart! I need leg bands or something.

Pop over here - you can make a practice pond, no rocks/boulders or anything like that, just soft sandy dirt!

you should put a web cam out there and catch all the action, they are so lively you know they are into everything.

Once you practice at Wildsky's in her nice boulder free dirt, come here and step to the next level with small rocks. Once you get our practice ponds dug, you will be able to take on your own pond. See? Simple.

And bring Drumstick with you or the deal's off.

Well I decided to let the ducklings out with the chickens to see what happened.
I had my hubby and two kids out to help watch for trouble...

Those little ducklings TORE around the back yard like they had little motors and wheels.... little wings flapping they nibbled on grass and weeds and tried the dirt too....

THey RAN around among the chickens and the chickens ignored them! Only one chicken took interest - a young hen, and her neck feathers kinda fluffed up - the duckling involved stretched its neck up and pecked at her beak - and that was that... the hen settled down and the duckling ran off.
