Ducklings getting to big for Plastic Tote?????

I have a kiddie pool but them little things can jump..And the kiddie pool isnt as high as the tote....I think they have a spring in their butt....6, 3 week old mallards

I use a ring of cardboard inside my kiddy pool edge to make the sides taller. I've also used wire to do this. I saw someone on here that used wire and then another kiddy pool upside down to cover the wire , she had cut a hole in the bottom of the pool so she could put a heat lamp through the top.

I used a kiddie pool also and just put cardboard around the inside. The pool was one of the bigger ones and I had to make sure that the heat lamp was far enough away.

Oh no LOL what am I ever going to do?! Mine are going to be in a large tote in the spare room.. I have 3 coming this weekend but they wont be able to go outside until the duck house is finished and oh man I am so overwhelmed... I'll have the 3 ducks, 5 EE's, and 25 meaties LOL

I have a large wire dog cage with the plastic bottom...But they can fit through the wire?

I put mine in the cage around a week and a half. One got through, the smallest of the hatch, and actually fell to his death. I even blocked off the first 6 inches around the bottom of the cage (except for the front door part) but it was tiny and somehow fit through the cage door. After I put them in no one got out for two days so I thought they couldnt get out. Then the day I leave my bedroom door open it sneaks out and falls off my second floor balcony onto the foyer. The poor baby died in my hands.

Now at two weeks old mine couldnt fit through even if they tried! If you tape cardboard around the entire bottom of the cage theres no way they can get out. My mistake was not blocking of the front of the cage.

Mine are in a rabbit cage with cardboard behind the water bowl (to keep splashing from getting everywhere)

In a few days I plan to move then into a med. sized dog crate, with cardboard on the bottom, since I Think they can still fix between the bars in the crate.

Go to my website and scroll to the very beginning posts. I did a little tikes sandbox (same almost as a kiddie pool) and then put up a cardboard "wall". Worked great for the next bit of time until I put them outside. Good luck!

I've used 2 together. I cut part so I can fit them as one and then duct tape it so it makes one big one. I"ve done the same with a kiddie pool.
