ducklings going after my adult duck

Hello everyone, i am
new here.. but i’ve had ducks for about 5 years now.
i had my pekin duck pass away and left my adult cayuga duck alone.. this was in november.. She seemed ok, but i knew when spring arrived i’d get her some
friends .. i did this before when i had one adult
duck and the ducklings and duck became very close instantly…
With this group i made sure the ducklings from day one sleep in a playpen next to my adult
duck’s playpen at night .. then when they were old enough to go outside during the day into the pen - i had them separated by coop wire and everyone seemed ok.. then i put them
all
together when
the ducklings were about 6 weeks old … they chased my adult duck. and my adult duck who is pretty feisty just let them
chase her!
Now they are almost 8 weeks and they are still doing it!
in the run there is their pond and area to forage they are ok with her inside the run but they will
chase her and jump on her back when she is in the pond … though at other times they are ok to be in the pond with her … i am
regretting doing this.. bc i feel
like
they are pushing her out of her own area.

will this stop?

oddly enough when the cayuga chases her.. the other ducks ultimately seem afraid of her .. they all seem afraid of her even though they chase her.. and why on earth she is not fighting back i do t understand.. she just moves out of their way and goes about her business..

I’ve had this happen and it takes several months one thing you can do is make sure you have extra food and water stations and extra pools, not in the same area as each other so she can still have some peace and swim sometimes and make sure she can eat without them chasing her. You may even want to put a temporary separate pen for her right next to them just so occasionally, maybe just a few hours a day she can have a break.

thank you for your response . yes.. during the day they are all in the big run with the pond .. and they do lay down together and they can be in the pond but then all
the sudden especially one- will push her out .. no one is aggressive, but they chase her away.. she then goes on top on the rock by the pond and watched them… at night i bring them inside and the gang of three is in one playpen and my older firl
is in her own - and they all
can see each other … oddly enough if i take the ducklings out to give her some quiet time
in the pond she cries to get them back … i just wish the one welsh would stop! i heard welsh H ducks were supposed to be quiet and calm.. they are the most rambunctious ducks i’ve ever owned! lol 😆 but all in all i think maybe it’s a time y bit better… i just hope eventually they will be happy together…here she is in the pond and they are on the outside …

Are you sure it's aggressive chasing and not imprinted chasing? They might think she's mom when she doesn't think they're her babies, so they try to interact like a clutch would with their mama
it’s funny you say that … bc they did this from the tkme
they were 2 inches tall! i wondered bc she is a pretty tough cookie my adult duck , she was always head of the gang .. and to see her just let them
chase her it is mind boggling to me.. so maybe there is some
of that ..

but the one chases her with a mouth open..but if nisha even tiuem
at them
they all
scream
and run the other wayZz it’s kinda comical …so often nisha acts
like she is watching over them.. so who knows! lol they are finally all
able to get dried meals worms together in the pond ..
