Ducklings gorging on food?!

Ok...I give chick grit, and I will put it beside them. I thought when they are ducklings I had to put it in there food, but I guess not.Thanks a lot!!!!

My little ducks to that too and they shake their heads around when they are eating. I figured it was a duck thing but it does make it look like they are having trouble swallowing.

As long as theyre drinking afterwards should be ok. They can be pigs at times but if they have free access all day they wont gorge as much at one time.

They need lots and lots of water to wash the food down.

Update: I placed the feed in and left it and they have not gorged since. Thank you all for the help!
