In February 10 golden 300 ducklings will arrive from efowl.com. There will be 2 females and the rest will be mixed so I won't know what they are until I get them. I want my ducks to have ducklings. I am wondering do female ducks lay on their fertilized eggs for the amount of day they need to be laid on? Or will they leave the eggs and will they die. I am wondering should I keep the male ducks for ducklings or just ordered fertilized eggs from efowl to save the money on feeding the drake. Either way I don't know if the female ducks will hatch the ducklings/ lay on them. Thank you for reading all this and I know it's a lot of questions but... I'm a "New Egg"

Thanks, Crazy4Fowl!

They may or may not sit on fertilized eggs. It depends on the duck. I highly doubt all will go broody at the same time and some may never. If you are ordering a mixed run what will you do with the extra males? If you are wanting eggs get eggs. When you buy ducklings they are shipped in 24 hours of bathing so you get them at 1-2 days old.

Golden 300 is the name of a breed. I believe Metzer had a hand in creating it.
Yes thats correct. I will sell the extra males and females because we only want 2. We had to get 10 because shipping would be cheaper. We were going to sell them on Craigslist or something

You can buy just 2 female from Metzer directly. Shipping isn't cheap but then you don't have to try to find homes for everyone else and house them in the process.

We already bought them. And fyi we tried buying them from meter farm but the minimum is 10 ducks. We ended up getting 10 anyway from fowl. But it was cheaper
