They are 3 weeks old and tthe temperature is exactly 80 in their cage. I had a 100 watt bulb when they were a few days old and they went under it then stopped and downgraded. The 100 watt was 100 degrees and I tried a 75 watt and they didn't go under. Now it's a 60 watt and they seem cold for some reason. Isn't that what it is supposed to be? They sleep like this every night and are cuddled and this is the only place they ever lay day. They walk around a bit, and get up to eat and drink but are always sleeping in the corner like this.

Ducklings just like to cuddle if it's 80 in their cage they should be fine unless they are wet from swimming.

When they go swimming I dry them off and let them preen themselves and take them in a little while after they're dry, so they should be okay! Thanks again for the reply :D

I agree with Miss Lydia, they do like to cuddle. I would maybe get a thermometor only because I think it is harder to tell with just a couple babies from the way they are acting if they are cold or cuddling. You can get one at home depot for ~$3 and it has a humidity gauge too.

I already previously bought a thermometer for them and placed it exactly where they lay in that corner. I came back an hour later and the thermometer read 82 degrees

the picture in post 1 looks ok to me

ducks huddle as do chicks

as long as they are sitting at the rim of the heat lamp that means they are neither too hot nore too cold

what you look for is if they are far from lamp they are too hot and if they are slap in the middle of lamp they are too cold
