So I have what I think are almost 3 week old ducklings. - khaki and Pekin And yesturday it was nice out so I took them out and showed them the outside .
My older girls 3 pekins and 2 geese. Met them too . It was interesting . The ducklings ran after the other ones w mouths open all weird . And the older girls just stood there . The chickens had no opinion .
Today I took them out w me to feed the older girls . They started trying to nip the older girls ! And jump on their back or nip their face . Like these lil things have balls to mess w the older girls haha they ran when the geese went to nip em . But ooo I thought they would be afraid ..? Not a bit!

I had something similar happen last summer. I got some Muscovy ducklings and introduced them to the grown Pekins I already had. The ducklings chased the adults around the pen for quite a while and one of the adults was 'chewing them out' when they finally got tired!

I don't think ducklings realize how tiny they really are, lol. Mine at 4-6 weeks chased my big ducks all over, and as babies, if they lunged, the big ducks jumped back! Same with my cat...my babies now aren't even a week old and when the cat gets too close to the cage they try to nip her and she jumps back, haha. It is hilarious!

That's exactly what happens! One of ducklings nips and jumps and lunges the other one is just kinda whatever . But I was so surprised! I thought the big girls would be nipping and lunging ? But nope! They just stare at them haha
