I suppose so. In between there I was feeding them and distracting them so lol. But now it’s dirty all over again so I see this will be a daily thing, but it’s ok. They love the pool and go in and out all day long.

Tonight our 5 had the pool fairly dirty before I was finished refilling it.

Lol so it’s a common thing lol. Much like my dog, and my kids lol one second clean next dirty.

They drill the dumped water, stick their bills in the pool, and one duck terrorizes the others once the pool is clean. Once I finished filling it I saw a Rouen hen with a Pekin hen on top and my little Runner drake on top of the Pekin. The Rouen was totally underwater for a while. Thankfully she is alright.

We see a lot of B3 deficient ducklings on here, especially heavy-weight breeds like Pekins since they grow so fast and put a lot of weight in a short matter of time, they seem to have a higher niacin intake than other breeds. It partially depends how long they've had it before it's corrected, for example, some day-olds come down with it and we've seen a complete turn around in a matter of hours, An older duck around two months may take a few days/weeks to be totally better.

To save you another trip make sure to get a syringe with a needle so you can get the fluids out of the bottle.

Maybe we could also talk about what foods naturally have niacin in them?

And to the others, maybe he doesn't have do only one type of food. I've heard of people mixing more than one type of feed, or putting oyster shell whatever the heck it was with other feeds as a minor ingredient for other animals.

Its also possible that some of the kitchen scraps can go to them.

But there's also a list of foods they are not supposed to have ever, which I've forgotten some of them. But the store people probably didn't talk to him about which foods they can't have?

My ducks put dirt in their bills and go to the pool and let it go in the pool. Lol crazy lol I’m glad your Rouen is ok. It makes me nervous I have chicks I was going to put in the pen with them I’m afraid they will try to swim too.

True, first I’m a female lol. The store didn’t tell me much I did a lot of research myself. Which is how I found out the ducks needed niacin but couldn’t find the correct food. And I have a list of what they can have and can not have. But they are still technically “young” I wasn’t sure if I could give them cherry tomatoes and stuff yet.
