Ducklings!

I found a lady with Anconas in Illinois. She will have them hatched by end of next week or early the week after. Would these do good with the Welsh Harlequins? I may get 2 Anconas and 2 harlequins!

I love your excitement! I have welshies (Pickles & Tofu), silver appleyards (Flora & Ducky), a black runner (Vignette), a blue swedish (Mizu), a cayuga (Druzy), pekins (Poppy & Petal), a mallard (Tiny), a golden 300 (Tater Tot), and my drakes are black/blue swedish cross (George & Tilly). In my experience, all breeds get along just fine!

Below is a photo of Poppy & Petal at 1 week old. They were hatched 2.22 this year.

Aww they are so cute!

Congrats on your coming babies! That's so exciting! Towels also work if you don't want to buy puppy pads. I keep my little ones on towels until they go outside to the run. I've had 3 welshies and they are super calm and sweet ducks. Post pictures when you get them!

I have babies shipping the last week of March and have gathered all my supplies and can't stop thinking about it - they're so fun!

I already have puppy pads. But will keep the towels in mind if i run out. I will post pictures. I have a countdown on my fridge and my phone has a reminder telling me how many days till they arrive🤣. I was so impatient to wait till tomorrow now its moved to April and im even more impatient.

I have some very eggciting news! I got 2 ducks today! And will be getting 2 next week! Im just hoping 2 are girls! I think the ones i got today were a Ancona and a Swedish Blue! They were in a hatchery choice bin! This is after they had been in here for 1 hour. The Ancona has what looks like a toxic symbol on her head🤣!

Some people say three weeks and others say six weeks. I let them swim after a week. You should be okay as long as you quickly get them dry and warm.
They climbed in the water dish a little bit ago, i had to dry them off, now they are trying to go in it again.
