Ducks all gone

I'm hoping for a good outcome on the remaining missing ducks for both of you! One night I worked a closing shift and my dad put the chickens in but managed to 'forget' about the ducks (they're in the same enclosure... the coops are right next to each other... but I digress)... The duck door is closed to keep the chickens out so they don't spread the wet-hay in the corner near the waterer all the way through the entire house with their scratching.

I went to let them out in the morning and none of them were in the coop. I panicked! Went all over the place, looked in the woods, looked for feathers. Finally started calling for them and heard quacking.. they had squeezed their way into our horse trailer through the tarp covering the opening and had nestled themselves behind a wall of hay for the night. If any predators had been around they would've been easy prey since the tarp was just to keep rain out, not animals, but fortunately they got lucky.

Hopefully your ducks turn up in the morning. Mine looked for shelter when they got 'forgotten', so hopefully yours will as well!

Do y’all not keep your ducks in fencing? Where they have a house to be locked up in at night. New duck especially need to be kept up till they know home. Very sorry for your loss:(
Hello, I have owned ducks for 10 years and they have never been taken/eaten. They are free range but have a house which is shut up at night around 7:30. The ducks that have gone are 7 years old so are not new and have never wondered off.
