Hi, My name is Lisa, Im new to this forum. I have a question about hatching ducks and chickens together. I have searched the questions in the forum and could not really find the answer i need. I started out with 12 chicken and 18 duck eggs, now have 11 chickens and 14 ducks. they are on incubation day 17. Everything i have read says that on day 18 Im supposed to open the vents of the incubator, increase humidity and slightly drop the temp. but what will happen to my ducks? they have a week left. will the change harm them? I thought about putting the chickens in the brooder with the right temp and to mist them starting day 18. will this work ok?

Hi Lisa &

to BYC. I'm not going to be much help to you on your questions, as I know nothing about ducks. So consider this a bump!

Ducks need a higher humidity than chicken eggs, so the raised humidity shouldn't harm them at all.
I started my duck eggs on my chicken eggs last week in the 'bator, and they did just fine.
