I am probably going to have to sell four of my beloved muscovys.... I can keep two of them if I can keep them with my chickens. Is this possible? Inadvisable? What kind of things do I need to do for them (other than provide a bath!) or bear in mind? Help! I can't bear to get rid of all of them

well ive never kept muscovies with chickens but ive kept other domestic ducks with chickens other than the obvious duck needs just keep in mind that you drake (if you have one) will try to mate with your hens....... ive only had this happen once but if you only have hen ducks i dont think you have much of a problem other than you pen will be more of a mess with the ducks in it!

I will just have two hens..... and my pen is pretty big, and in the woods, so I'm hoping this will minimize the mess! If I clip their wings, will this stop them flying altogether?

yeah it will but you need to check the wings often because i have clipped wings and forgot to check up on them and ive had some bantams try to fly away and if you have two hens then like i said half the battle is over because you dont have to worry about mating. good luck and hope your girls are neat and clean!

I have khaki campbells-3 of them who live with my chickens and 2 sebbie geese, all together in one coop & run. The coop gets a bit messier than it would if I just had chickens, but I don't have any other issues. The chicks & ducks came from Ideal together in the same box and were in the brooder together so they think they are all one big happy family.

You shouldn't have any trouble at all with two Scovy hens and your chickens. As you know, Scovies don't need too much water. Just provide a tub for a bath & they will be fine. They will muck up the chickens waters but ....hey, something you deal with so you can have your Scovy girls. When I first got my Scovies last year they spent the first few months housed w/my chooks & they did just fine.
