Ducks and covid

The virus itself while highly contagious is actually fairly fragile (simple regular hand washing with soap kills it) so if you're very concerned, just wash your hands after handling the duck and dont put your hands on your face or in your eyes/mouth until theyve been washed - which should be fairly standard regardless of covid because they're animals and baby ducks especially can be quite dirty with all their mess making.

I'd be more concerned with making sure the new duck you get is sexed, since heading into winter when it will be more difficult to find ducks and having a poor gender ratio would be less than ideal

Hello everyone, I have a question. One of my 2 ducks passed away recently, and as ducks arevery social beings, we wanted to get a new companion duck right away for the one we currently have. However, we are a little paranoid the new duckling we would buy will have covid on his feathers. It may sound a little paranoical but this virus has scarred us all in different ways. Aynone have any tips on what we can do?
How old is the duck that you have currently?

Update: We got the new duckling however we do not know what type she is. We are told she is female, I will attatch a picture. She is actually yellow-white and its just the lighting that makes her body look dark Anyone have an idea on what breed she might be?.

Thank you everyone :)

I have noticed whenever I get up close to her, she raises her head towards me and opens her beak, almost as if she wants to be fed by hand or is thirsty. What could it be?
