These are all good replies. We have contacted DNR their response is once the young have left the nest, They will calm down. Of course, we can protect ourselves with hats, umbrellas and a bat. I don't see them attacking the mallards, swans or herons. I do see them snatching up mice, chipmunks and a cat.
Just ordered a 100ft long 48" high fence from premier. This I will place around their little coop with 60 of solar power while they are sleeping. It can move to our large yard during the day without power. I will use clips to secure screen to the top. I will be close but not constantly watching for the hawk.
