ducks and rabbits??

Wow, you've had some scary rabbits. I've never had one that was that bad, and none that were mean to humans. I think part of the problem is that the general consensus is that rabbits are like the Easter bunny. Cuddly and sweet. They are prey animals and therefore have to be able to attempt to defend themselves. And they see humans most of the time as predators. I have and have had lovely rabbits, but I respect their limitations and their fears. Certainly there are very friendly rabbits, I've seen them both in the shelters that I have volunteered in and at friends homes. That being said, I think it is probably, again in my opinion, not wise to put them in with the ducklings. If they were to need to defend themselves, and did hurt the ducklings, then they would be blamed for being the aggressor, And I don't think that's fair. Animals are animals. So it is up to us to keep all species safe. And to provide them with the best home we possibly can.

Yeah they were not very nice. Maybe just bad luck? I know people who had wonderful rabbits so I know they can be great pets.

I have literally never met someone else's rabbit that did not try to kill me. Ever heard one growl? It's TERRIFYING. They can be very territorial!

LOL, I don't know where you guys find these rabbits! Monty Python and the Holy Grail?????

I came here to see if my duck had a duckling would the rabbits hurt it & I'm still not sure. I'm leaning more towards keeping them separated from each other for a while until the ducking is at least as big of not bigger than my rabbits. I have 3 female rabbits & 2 female ducks sharing my backyard in open space. They live underneath my shed together & get along. Although the ducks didn't like the rabbits at first they stay out of each other's way & will lay together in the yard now! But I was thinking of getting my Pekin duck a fertilized egg because she is Brody right now & I feel so bad to just keep taking the eggs & confusing her. I want her to at least have 1 baby 🥺 but I'm thinking if I do that to at least have them separated during those crucial couple months. Hope this helps someone as I am trying to figure out the same solution!

I wouldnt keep ducks and rabbits together even if they got along because of the damp and filth that ducks produce. When I have brooded ducklings they get kicked outside asap because of the shocking mess and stench. whereas rabbits are easily kept dry and clean.
