Thinking of buying ducklings, anyone have suggestions on keeping them out of the coyotes mouths?
We bought 12 ducklings last year and not one survived, we kept them in till we believed they were big enough, a fisher got a few, then the coyotes picked off the rest one by one through out the next month.

You need coop or pen they can be locked up in at night, I have hotwire around my duck pen, top and bottom, works great

We have a coop and covered run for our Muscovys.
If the coyotes don't get the a fox will. They are not safe at night just on the pond.
It took 2 years for the fox to pick off my neighbors ducks this winter cuz the pond froze, and they had nowhere to hide.
