I agree that getting in with them helps. I just stepped out into the lake a little bit to show them that it was safe!Here's in idea. Maybe you need to show them the way by diving in yourself?They see you as their mama, and mama always leads the way, right?
I had the same problem with a duckling that I had raised inside the house. She also hated the water. She was fine as long as she felt a steady ground underneath her feet, but once I raised the water level there was no way in hell that she wanted to go in. No, Ma'am! Nu-uh! So I bought a small inflatable kiddy pool, filled it up and sat my butt in it. And low and behold, she was jumping up and down in an effort to get in too. And yep, surely enough when I picked her up and gently placed her into the water she immediately felt comfortable. Threw in a few mealworms and before I knew it she was diving and splashing around. I stayed in there with her for about 10 minutes, and she had no problem playing in the water by herself since then.
