Ducks bullying call hen

My little penciled girl Spot is a loner and has always been on the "outside" of things but nobody picks on her luckily. It breaks my heart that shes always by herself but she doesn't seem to mind much. I think it may be that she is the only survivor of my first hatch, well, not actually but she thinks she is. I rescued her other 2 sisters after they'd been at another home for 6 months.

Of course adding more ducks if you want is always an option. If you get ducklings just introduce them to her slowly while they are still babies like taking them outside on warm days where she can see them and them her but always with supervision. That way when the ducklings are mature enough to go out for good they will all know each other already and she’ll have her own flock.

No one really likes her. I never see her napping with any other ducks. They either ignore her or try to peck her. My call drake is okay with her (although I’ve seen him drive her off too). Wondering about penning them together? Would that make him be a little protective of her? Also wondering about getting more ducklings (I’m always thinking about that though!) and putting her in with them? I was hoping to hear from you Miss Lydia, you’ve given me great advice in the past!
Separate her with the Call Drake. That's what I'd do.

Not great... Wednesday night, my ramshackle attempt to separate her, with my call drake and a duck fell apart immediately. Scared everyone, but they were united in their irritation with me. Last night when I was putting them in their coop, I noticed that the call duck had an injured eye, most likely from a peck from her not so friendly friends. I brought her inside, washed out her eye area and she spent the night in my bathtub. Tonight I put her in a hamper in the coop. She is away from wandering beaks but can still be with the flock. Of course the addition of the hamper meant no one would go into the coop willingly and I had to catch each one individually to put them inside. I was NOT a happy duck owner (slave) and am ashamed to say I took their night time meal worm snack back into the house with me.

Why are you being so paranoid?

Your great to watch for injuries. When my old drake died he had one female left in his harem I had been keeping him an her separated from the other Muscovy because he was not able to walk well and the drakes took advantage of it. So when Ruthie was alone I started integrating her into the flock of Muscovy females and drake. He did not like her an chased her off every time she came around but one of the females did befriend her and that began a year long acceptance. Finally the drake accepted her. Now they are a flock of 5 ducks. And even though she is 13 and has arthritis she is top female. lol. If you can get 2 to accept her then hopefully the others will but in the mean time keeping her safe from injury is important too.
