Good afternoon, I have 13 young ducks, mostly mallards some mallard / mix I bought at a local swap. (I should have looked harder at the ducks before I said I would take them all...) and I just bought 2 young Emden geese. The ducks started nipping and beating up on the geese very soon after I put them in the same coop. I have a small 4 x 4 fully enclosed coop near my pond which is where I am raising them until they are big enough. I bought the geese to help keep the ducks safe once they are grown... I now have them separated with the geese inside in an empty brooder. I have read a lot about geese beating up on ducks, but in this case they are all young and some of the ducks at this time are older and therefore bigger than the geese. Any information is appreciated. Thank you for your time. In a few weeks all of this should be moot but for now I do not want to lost my geese...

welcome you did the right thing, goslings seem to take longer to mature than ducklings and can easily be bullied, give the goslings time to get some leg under them and then try intergrating with supervision, if you can fix it so they can still see each other and not be able to get to one another that will help when you intergrate. All the best and let us know how it goes. and of course pics.
