ducks camping?

I know this is an old thread, but it's kind of cool seeing other people passionate about their pets enough to go to great lengths to accomodate them.

Hello,

I take my female Mallard (8weeks) that is flying camping all the time. I have a safe place (huge dog kennel with smooth slide out tray floor) with hay and food/water and a pool. She sleeps in our trailer at night on the floor covered with towels.

We go to the same place all the time and there is a beautiful mountain fed lake a our disposal :) We have a boat that she flies behind/in front/beside when we are out on the water.

I leave the kennel open for her to go in whenever she wants.

Don't you worry being in a strange place she would fly off and not be able to find you? or do you not let her wander around.?

Of course I worry. I Love her to pieces. But she hasn't made me worry (too much) yet. She seems to know where "home" camp is. She even flies into the cabin we stay in from the lake. I am trying to let her be as free as she wants to be.
