I really don't know much about this issue, but I have seen somewhere on this site that chickens can asymptomatically carry diseases that affect ducks/potentially be fatal...
NOW once again, that could be COMPLETE CONJECTURE or an old wives tale OR it could be scientifically-backed...
I figured I'd put that out there and see if someone else who knows a bit more could address whether that is possible or not so you can help your babies as soon as possible!! Sending lotsa hugs!! I'm sorry for your losses
