Ducks eating poop

We have ducks and goats who have access to some of the same area in the daytime. I know this is gross, but recently, I've caught a couple of my ducks eating goat poop. Will this hurt them or make them sick?

Also, we are trying to rid ourselves of rats right now. Will it be harmful if one of our ducks eat rat poop too? I think I may have just witnessed that happen as well...

If the goats and rats do not have diseases, I think the ducks are okay.

The concern is if the former do have anything that can affect both species.

One reason not to use poison is that the ducks may eat some by accident.

By the way - they are probably eating the goat poo, but I wonder if they're looking for fly larvae or something like that. Or undigested corn or other grains.
