I am so proud of my puppy Oreo who is 6 months old! I am equally happy that my ducks who are 6 weeks old were allowed out of their pen and I took them to our pond for the first time. I taught Oreo how to herd them and be gentle with them, our bunny, and our chicks. He is doing a great job. If you knew Oreo---- he was abandoned on the side of the road at probably 6 weeks of age. He was so tiny and probably barely weaned when my husband found him. He was so dehydrated he was peeing blood poor baby! We took him in, gave him electrolytes and nursed him back to health. He was very hyper but he is very smart I think he's got border collie in him. Working with him for months every single day has paid off! I'm doing a happy jig! Now our ducklings were just sticking right around us and wouldn't really venture off far into the pond which I was afraid of... I had to watch the sky for hawks and saw only one but it went another way.

Wow, big adventures at your place! Keep up with the watchful eye - so many littles, so much to teach them so everyone stays safe and unharmed!

Yes! Too true! You know what happened to Mellow. She is doing well but I don't ever want to have such a horrible experience ever again! I was watching the sky AND the water for predators. I will take them out for another visit to the pond tomorrow or the next day. They spent about 20 minutes out of their pen then I started walking to their pen and called them and they came and went right in. It was so successful and beyond expectation! I'm working on making them an enclosure with water pans like you have but one thing at a time.
