So one of the places im looking at buying has a small muddy pond, purportedly with catfish inside it, no clue on the catfish, but i can vouch for the muddy. He apparently dug out a low spot in his lawn and just let it fill up, though it is supposed to contain an aerator, though ive never seen it used so i dont know if it works. Does this sound like a recipe for disaster, or a great idea for a couple of ducks in addition to my proposed chickens and other farm animals? We plan to have the water in the pond tested for contaminants before making any decisions about it, and if it is not good we will likely fill it in, but if it pans out, is there anything specificly i should test before commiting to ducks, or that may be harmful to them?
Any and all, positive, negative, neutral, is welcome
