I have two ducks, a male, and a female. The male has always had a problem with his leg/foot.. It had gotten better for a while but now it seems worse. He folds his foot under and just drags it (unless he's in a hurry he will put his body weight on the bone above his foot). It looks very painful. We've made a few splints. We made a soft splint but it ended up falling off and at the moment he has a harder splint on that's more supportive but it doesn't look as if it's working. Looks as if he's trying to balance his foot on the bottom of the splint. He most definitely walks better with the splint on though. I just don't feel like it's working for him and I don't think it's comfortable. I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

How old is he? Also get more girl ducks

Sorry to hear your drake is having problems.
Could you post a video of him walking with his foot-dragging? To post a video, upload it to a video, platform such as youtube, or Vimeo, and copy/paste the link here.

Have you done an inspection of the foot, and checked for lesions, discoloration? Have you tried bending the joints, listening for clicking, and feeling for anything out of place?

Yes Of course but I will have to take the video tomorrow considering it's dark out at the moment haha. I did inspect his foot and there are no open wounds. I am not sure what the anatomy of his foot should look like so I'm not sure what I should be looking for. I did not hear any clicking when we moved his joints. Tomorrow, bright and early, I will submit a photo and video of his legs/feet. Please stay in contact. Thank you for your reply!

I look forward to the video - if needed, you can use your other duck as a comparison to what normal legs should look like.

Here are the videos of the drake's leg. Also this morning my female had somehow chipped her beak. I don't know how these things keep happening to them and I feel terrible.
- him walking
- more walking
- comparison of my female and the drakes
