Ducks laying Rotten Eggs?!

Remind me to tell you about my hen with bacterial gleet.

What's that?

So I decided today that instead of just throwing the eggs in the woods as I have been doing, that I would throw them on the ground in front of me and see what was inside. Even though many of them smelled bad through the shell, the yolk appeared to be the normal yellow color. One egg I broke open only appeared to have a very tiny yellow yolk though and the rest inside of the egg was the clear part. I tried to get a good pic but the way it broke in the grass made it hard to really show you what I'm talking about.

I did notice that the only two eggs that didn't smell bad were laid in a different location today. The ducks covered the smelly eggs under the pine shavings for some reason and they laid them in the same nest.

I don't know if this additional info will help in further diagnosis or not but I thought I would add it.

Salpingitis does have some of the same symptoms though.

Another question I have is what to do about the ducks who aren't laying yet and my drakes who have been in the same area? I have three females who are 13 weeks old and I wonder if this has affected them as well. I just can't tell because of them not laying yet. Would they need to be treated too?
