Ducks mating out of water

Hi everyone! About a month ago i rescued a Pekin Female from Last Chance Ranch! She’s been doing really great with all of the ducks! Recently though, she’s been like laying on the ground and really stretching her neck out and making weird quacking noises whenever our male Pekin has been around! I never thought anything of it, but today i saw them mating out of water! There was a dog sized bowl i keep in the coop with fresh water always, and she laid down between him and the bowl and he just climbed on top of her! And did everything ducks do mating, but OUT OF THE WATER! I literally have never even seen this and i tried looking it up and, NOTHING! I’m not sure if my ducks are just so weird, or if this is normal? Thanks!

My runner boys will mate anywhere, anytime for much of the year. I am relieved when they mate out of the water, because I sometimes worry they are going to drown the object of their affection. Especially when they line up and take turns.
